Effect
As many runes require proper position due north. The compass rune allows you to easily see which direction is north as well as other information.
- When the rune is made of Glass, also displays the version number.
- When the rune is made of Bookshelves, it also displays the people whom have debug that are on the server.
- When the rune is made of Leaves, it also displays the seed for the world you are in.
Notes
This Rune is the simplest and most basic rune. It should probably be cast before making any waypoints, teleporters, phase/lock blocks, Chrono Trigger, or anything else that is direction sensitive.
With Minecraft Beta 1.9 prerelease 4, Mojang changed the direction that the sun rises in. According to Notch the sun used to rise in the North, not the east. The compass rune was designed before that bug was removed, and pointed to what is actually west now. For compatibility with old worlds, config.yml contains an option to select the previous behavior.
